Steven C. Cortes has worked in financial markets for 18 years.  In 2002 he founded his own firm providing realtime research to institutional trading desks.

Cortes appears on CNBC as a contributing commentator on global financial markets, mostly seen on the Closing Call at 3 ET, with frequent appearances on Fast Money and the Kudlow Report as well.  He also authored Against the Herd on contrarian investment strategies. Mr. Cortes graduated from Georgetown University, where he was a George Baker Scholar, was nominated by the University for the Rhodes Scholarship, and played varsity football.
